Bell is a popular sound amongst many current favourites. Isabelle (#17) is the queen Bell, and has many variants including, particularly, Isabel (#51) and Isobel (#60). Annabelle (#105) and Annabel (#122) are next up the aisle, followed by Bella (#165), Arabella (#296) and Belle (#525). A few other recognisable names that fall below the top 1000 include Mabel, Christabel, Bluebell, Mirabel and Rosabelle and Amabel.
Whilst poking around in British birth, marriage and death records I have come across many interesting -bel compounds that have been coined by British parents since 1838.
